Dave Cooper

  • Became a member of Teamsters Local 31 in July, 1982
  • Twenty-one years as shop steward at Gray Line of Vancouver
  • Elected to Local 31 Executive Board as Trustee in 1992
  • Re-elected to Local 31 Executive Board as Trustee in 1997
  • Hired as Business Agent in 2003
  • Since being hired as Business Agent, has represented Local 31 members in various industries from public sector (School District No. 34), freight, tourism, fuel and gas transportation and courier
  • Currently representing all courier companies (Purolator, UPS and Tiger) in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, as well as Superior Propane and Praxair on Vancouver Island
  • Has been elected as a Delegate to every International Brotherhood of Teamsters Convention since 1996
  • Has also been a Delegate at Teamsters Canada Conventions in 1992, 1996, 2001
  • Appointed as Assistant Director (West) Parcel and Package Division of Teamsters Canada in 2011
  • Trustee on Teamsters' National Pension Plan
  • Trustee on United Parcel Service Canada Pension Plan
  • Married to wife Dawn and has two sons
  • Keen follower of English Premier League football (soccer) - Man U all the way!
