The goal of the Teamsters' National Benefit Plan is to provide its members with the best possible health benefits which can be provided by the assets of the fund and the contributions paid to the fund by the employers.
The purpose of these online booklets is to give you a brief description of the plans and their health benefits in general terms. It is not to be considered a contract of insurance. The exact terms of the health benefits are detailed in insurance contracts and other formal documents which govern the plan. Health benefits are subject to change by the Trustees.
The Teamsters' National Benefit Plan became effective July 1 1971 as the result of a Collective Agreement between certain employers and the Union. The Plan operates under the supervision and guidance of a Board of Trustees appointed by the Teamsters Local Union No. 31.
This is your Benefit Plan and you are encouraged to learn about it. If you have questions which are not answered in this booklet please contact the office of the Plan Administrator. Our staff will be happy to assist you.
